Can You Really Have A Shark As A Pet?

One of the best activities at any aquarium is spotting the sharks in the giant tank. Sharks are perhaps the most fascinating animal in the entire ocean. They have made people afraid to go in the water since Jaws first hot movie screens in 1977 before spawning a series of sub par sequels. The sharks in those movies were Great White sharks which have been known to get to about 50 feet long in size. Not all sharks get that big however. So, are there some sharks small enough that you could keep them as pets even as they enter adulthood? The short answer to that question is yes but there are a few caveats.

1.) Tank size- There are a couple species of sharks that never really get that big, growing to a maximum of just a foot and a half. To be fair, a foot and a half is still a pretty good size. You will need a tank big enough for the shark to swim around in without being totally miserable. Male sure you have a tank that’s accommodating in size or a shark might not be the best pet for you.

2.) Keep him well fed- Sharks do like their food. The preference of sharks is to eat meat and there is a variety of sea life that will accommodate its appetite. For instance, a shark loves to eat clams and mussels. You can also feed a shark scallops and even shrimp. By this point you’re probably thinking being a shark must be great as they done on many of the same foods their human owners enjoy.

Sharks can make very interesting pets. They actually do have charisma and are endlessly fascinating to friends and guests who come over. They are also a responsibility to be taken very seriously. Don’t put a shark among other wish unless you want those other fish to be eaten. Likewise, don’t cramp a shark by having him reside in an undersized tank.

There is just something about the history, the grandeur, and the overall “cool” factor of walking into a high-end casino. While gambling boats have a tendency to attract the working class crowd (who sit mechanically, not really having all that much fun), the major casinos of the world are some hip and beautiful places to hang out, enjoy yourself, and be seen by the right people. After all, some places, such as the Clermont Club in London, allow their members to buy vintage champagne with what they win. But the fact that there might be royalty sitting a few meters away makes it all the more interesting.

You can also try out places such as the Casino de Monte Carlo. While it may not be as convenient as it would be to stay home and play online casino games, you do get something really special when you don a tuxedo, grab a couple hundred thousand in “fun money,” and hit the baccarat table while between attempts at blackjack or roulette. What is really interesting about these types of places is that, being traditional, they are not resorts in the modern sense. They are places where the wealthy spend a bit of their largesse for high class, “aren’t we better than they are” entertainment.

Maybe you want to be pampered a little bit. You could try the Bellagio in Las Vegas, where they have all sorts of swanky amenities. For one thing, there is a branch of Le Cirque (the exclusive New York restaurant), as well as boutiques with such impressive names as Chanel and Hermes.
